National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)

JEE Main Paper 2 & NATA are two main exams in India for B. Architecture & B. Planning Course The National Aptitude Test in Architecture: NATA, measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to specific field of Architecture.

NATA Subjects - Marking Scheme

Subject No. of Questions Marks Mode of Exam
1 Mathematics 20 40 MCQ (OMR Based)
2 General Aptitude 40 80 MCQ (OMR Based)
3 Drawing Test 02 80 Paper & Pencil
Answers to both parts of Mathematics and General Aptitude must be provided on same OMR sheet, which is specially designed machine readable response sheet. Answers are to be marked (bubbled) using blue/black ball point pen only.

  7. Understanding of scale and proportions
  8. Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences. The Answer to each question in the 'drawing' paper will be examined by more than one examiner independently and the marks are to be averaged. The primary emphasis in scoring the drawing section is on the candidate's drawing, imagination and observation skills. The candidate's sense of proportion and perspective are also evaluated together with sense for color and composition
Questions will be based on:
  1. Understanding of scale and proportion of objects, geometric composition, shape, building forms and elements, aesthetics, color texture, harmony and contrast
